Pre-Shampoo Egg Treatment Recipe

2 eggs

1 tbsp olive oil

1 cup lukewarm water (do not use hot water it will scramble the eggs)

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Beat eggs. Add oil to eggs and beat well. Combine water and apple cider vinegar. Slowly add the water to the egg mixture and combine mixture. Pour mixture into a container. After shampooing, massage all the conditioner into hair, and leave on for a half hour or more under a shower cap, before thoroughly rinsing with room temperature water.

Side Note: For added richness, add half an avocado to the mixture.

Hey! Thanx for recipe. Is this pre or post shampooing? Headlines says pre- but the instructions say post.

Do I shampoo first then add the egg mixture?

      Hey Blujamaican and Miossoty,
It can be used both pre and post shampoo, I need to adjust instructions. I find that when I do it prior to shampooing, my hair smells better, the shampoo and then the conditioner kills the scent of the egg. However, if you have a really nice smelling conditioner or a strongly scented essential oil, you can do it post shampoo, rinse it out and then leave conditioner on hair, for ten minutes or so, to kill the ‘eggy’ scent.

Hea brenda I’m little lost on how to use this, what do u mean by pre shampoo can u direct me in how I shud use this. Also can I use this every week when I wash my hair?

Pre-shampoo means before shampoo. I cannot make a suggestion not having any information on your hair. Generally, though, it can be used every other week.

Brenda, can you co-wash then do this treatment. Because I am planning to do Hot Oil Treatments every two weeks so I would co-wash on the weeks between and then do this recipe.

Can I do this before or after my apple cider vinegar mixture and then go into the shampoo and conditioning?
