Any unbalance in hair can be uncomfortable, if hair is too dry it will break, if hair is too oily it can shed and it looks unattractive, feels limp and has no sheen. The following are three recipes for oily hair that can help to alleviate this condition without stripping the hair too much or adding extra oil to clog the pores.
Lavender is notorious for balancing the conditions on the scalp; it can be used for both oily and dry hair and will yield great results.
1/2 cup Liquid Castile Soap
7 drops Lavender essential oil
2 drops Vitamin E oil
2 drops Tea Tree Oil
Add the oils to the liquid castile soap and shampoo hair every three days.
Aloe and Apple Cider Conditioner
1 cup aloe vera gel
1 cup apple cider vinegar
6 drops jojoba oil
4 drops peppermint oil
In a blender combine the aloe vera gel, apple cider, jojoba and peppermint oils.
Hang head over sink and massage mixture into hair. Wrap hair in a plastic cap and then cover with a hot towel. Rinse out hair thoroughly with lukewarm water.
2 cups apple cider vinegar
2 cups dried thyme
Boil the thyme in apple cider vinegar, take off stove top and cover.
Strain when cool and rinse hair as needed. For a potent mix let the thyme stay steeped in the apple cider for a 3 days or more. Makes a very effective hair rinse.
